I dreamt that I was keeping a log of my weirdest dreams.

I dreamt that I compiled these dreams in chronological order and published them in an ebook.

I dreamt that you bought it, read it, and enjoyed it.

Strange Dreams edition by David Gerrold Humor Entertainment eBooks

After discovering David Gerrold in the latest issue of Fantasy & Science Fiction magazine, I went looking for some of his works. Amazed that I didn’t already have “The Man Who Folded Himself” in my collection so of course I got that but when I saw “Strange Dreams” for 99 cents I thought I’d give it a try.

This book is EXACTLY as advertised :) Simply a random recap of the author’s dreams over a period of a couple of years. It is like your spouse or a friend telling you about the dream they had last night. The big difference is David Gerrold lives in a world populated by famous people so everyone from the cast of “The Big Bang Theory” to John Scalzi to Harrison Ford make brief appearances in his dreams. Since I only dream about people I know (other than the faceless ones who are always chasing me), I’m assuming that Gerrold actually knows these people.

What was weird to me though was the fact that the author sometimes dreams that he is someone else- a character in a movie/tv show. Is it just me that finds that weird? I have never had a dream where I was anyone but myself.

Ranging from a few sentences to a few pages, the dreams are sometimes salacious (remember- they’re dreams) and sometimes boring (road trips). I read a few dreams in bed each night and think that that is probably the best way to enjoy the book- in small doses. Read straight through it would probably become a little tedious.

So I definitely found this entertaining enough to be happy with the 99 cents spent :)

Strange Dreams edition by David Gerrold Humor Entertainment eBooks Reviews

What an amazing collection of snapshots into the (insert superlative here) imagination of David Gerrold. Most of these crazy stories could be expanded into a movie or novel or nightmare. I am impressed.
Science fiction author David Gerrold (creator of Star Trek's Trouble with Tribbles) has entertained his Facebook fans with regular postings of his strange dreams and now he's compiled them into a new book entitled, appropriately enough, "Strange Dreams." There are a lot of dreams in this book so don't go into it thinking of it as a quick read. Best digested a few at a time. Say, a few at a time right before you drop off and have a few strange dreams of your own. Recommended!
At least, I think I had the strangest dream, but darned if I can remember it! David Gerrold should count his lucky stars that he can remember his most of the time.

This is a collection of David Gerrold's accounts of his dreams over the past few years. Most are less than a page long. More than a few end with "Then I got up to pee." Expect a few puns along the way as well. Some are just a trifle - (No! No spoilers!)

"Strange Dreams" is just for fun - a lot of fun. You can read a few just about any time and anywhere. Just be careful if you're reading while using the euphemism; s do not like being dropped in water!

At one point, Gerrold speculates about why he so often has famous people in his dreams. Well, he does live in LA and has many connections in the movie, TV and science fiction fields. He's a huge fan of "The Big Bang Theory," so it's not surprising that people from that show appear in several dreams. I had that happen once myself. I was on a bus sitting next to Johnny Galecki. Jim Parsons was behind me and Kaley Cuoco was next to him. At first I wasn't sure it was them because they were out of context. That's one of the very few dreams that I've remembered much beyond waking up.

I wish I had dreams like David Gerrold tells of in this book and also on his Facebook page (it appears many of these accounts are taken from his Facebook entries, so after you've finished this book, tune in there for more). Someone suggested I keep a notebook and pencil on my nightstand. I did that, but like Gerrold, when I wake up, usually I have to pee. By the time I get back, the dream has faded.
