Wow. Both Book 1, and this one were IMPECCABLE. Brown writes with both clarity and richness, which is not easy to do. It seems as if authors always get stuck between short sentences versus long, details versus brevity. The way this is always solved with Brown is simply good taste. The story is "believable" in the midst of huge fantasy elements, as well.In this book, you will enjoy the fact that it's a sequel. You will enjoy seeing where the relationship between Maria and Rod goes. You will enjoy the current mystery. You will also be shocked at some of the small surprises/ twists.
It's in a word: amazing. Read Book 1 first!

The second book in this series was as good as, if not better than the first. Unexpected twists and turns kept me reading voraciously to the last page.
Very enjoyable and interesting read! Loved the history and landscapes. And I always enjoy a book with a strong woman lead.
Great story lines - Surprising and unpredictable without being too far fetched. Highly recommend for an engaging reading experience. Also love the robust character development - I feel like Maria is good friend. Can't wait for the next book in the series!
The second book in the series. The Sheriff from Kanab Utah and her boyfriend go to Arizona to hike with his college friends in the Superstitious Mountains. It turns into a catastrophe and Maria is left to figure out what is going on.
The second book in the Legends of Treasure series does not disappoint. The mystery kept me guessing until the end. Maria is a wonderful character - flawed but working hard to overcome the difficulties from her past. I appreciate the historical information included in each chapter; it helped put things in context for me as a reader with very little knowledge of the area or the Legend of the Lost Dutchman Treasure. The supernatural elements added just the right touch. I highly recommend this book and am looking forward to more of Maria's adventures! Well done!!
Such a great continuation of the Legends of Treasure Series. The plot and characters are realistic and entertaining, and the paranormal mystery element is SO MUCH FUN. I'd never consider myself a treasure hinting kind of person, but these books have me itching to go out and investigate the legends more. Lois does such a great job of weaving real life fact into her fiction stories, I could easily believe the stories were real. In fact, multiple times when I've been describing the books to my husband, he's said "but that didn't really happen, did it?" and I have to re-explain that it's fiction based on fact and legend, because it's so realistic. Love the book, honestly I wish it had been a little longer, it just left me dying for more!
Lois's second book in the Treasure series "Skeleton's Among Us" kept me on a fast read to the end. Marie and Rod find themselves in the middle of a murder which had twists and turns to the end. Lois adds a little clean romance to add interest. It did help to read "Robbed of Soul" first, but this plot just continued on with a great story line of its own. I highly recommend the book for a quick, fun read. My husband who is reading the book commented that he didn't know Lois thinks up her intriguing plots. I am looking forward to her third book in the series. Happy reading!!!
